Technical Committees: IBC set up a number of Technical Committees to deal with different aspects of Built Environments and Construction Industry and to recommendations on related subjects. IBC also undertakes compilation of Handbooks and Manuals on different subjects of National importance.
Conventions & Seminars: The First Annual Convention was organized at New Delhi on 4th & 5th October 1994 with a Seminar on the theme "Buildings in National Development". Since then seventeen more Annual Conventions along with Seminars on various subjects were held at New Delhi besides seventeen mid-term Seminars in other parts of the country. All the Seminars had topical Themes.
IBC Journal: IBC publishes Two volumes of "Journal of IBC" in a year which are supplied to members free of charge.
IBC News: IBC brings out a quarterly News Magazine called" IBC News". Members of IBC can send their views and articles of common interest on subjects connected with any aspect of building engineering discipline including the built environment for publishing in this magazine. IBC News is also mailed to members free of charge.
IBC Samachar: IBC also publishes a Monthly News Letter called "IBC Samachar" which is sent to all the members free of charge.
IBC Awards: IBC has instituted the following Awards:
Awards for best Papers presented during IBC Seminars: 3 Medals and 2 Commendation Certificates are awarded to the authors of Papers selected out of entries received for each Seminar organized by IBC. Awards are also given exclusively for the best Papers presented by young professionals including ladies.
Awards for excellence in Built Environment: One Award for each of the following categories:
Individual Residential units
Rehabilitation/Retrofitting of Buildings and Buildings in Disaster Prone Areas, and
Innovation in Designs, Material and Technologies for Buildings & Services
Each Award carries a Trophy and a Citation. In addition, Commendation Certificates are also given to entries which merit recognition. Awards are presented on the occasion of the Annual Conventions.
Smt. Satya Goel Memorial Award is conferred on an outstanding Woman Building Professional.
This Award Carries a Citation & Certificate.
Workmen Training Programme: IBC has started "On Job Workmen Trainings" Programmes & Certification in different trades as per the scheme of DGE&T in the Ministry of Labour, Govt. of Indian. Workmen Training Centres have been established at Dev Nagar & Mandoli at Delhi, NOIDA (U.P), Palwal, Nuh & Gurgaon (Haryana) in Delhi NCR, Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Chandigarh. Establishing the " On job Training Centres" at Jaipur, Nagpur, Agartala, Aizawl & other IBC Local chapters is in process.
IBC Institute for Training of Building Professionals: IBC has opened an Institute for Training of Professionals & Contractors (now re-named as Institute for Training of Building Professionals) at its Headquarter in New Delhi. First training programme was inaugurated on 28th April 2011.
